As 2017 draws to a close, I hope everyone had a wonderful time celebrating Christmas or just spending time with family and friends over the festive season. I spent the days following up to Christmas making ‘stained glass’ cookies (pictures down below!), pumpkin soup and a bûche de noël (yule log) to share for when family came over for a Christmas dinner. It was quite a bit of work on my behalf, but I do enjoy being busy and making something to be proud of! 🙂
Nothing difficult to making this cake and what a delightfully fluffy and delicious cake it was!
We’re deep in the middle of winter here in Australia and while that means getting out of bed in the morning is super difficult, the cold weather is producing some beautiful lemons on my mum’s lemon tree! Apart from making some hot lemon tea to enjoy, I thought this the perfect opportunity to make a tarte au citron, also known as a lemon tart in English.
Birthdays are one of the few times I’m allowed to get a little fancy with the cakes I make for the family. Now with this cake, I’ve wanted to try it out for some time now so when my own birthday swung round on the 28th, I thought, ‘LET’S DO THIS!!’ And now, here you have it! Yay!
