This cake was one of the first cakes I made when I started baking, and remains one of my family’s favourites. As this cake is not too heavy or sweet, it really is a good tea time…or any time cake!
This post is about a month late, but better late than never right?
Another cake that was put together in about 15 minutes after coming home from work- all the sponge layers and cream had been prepared, but I wanted to keep everything as fresh as possible, and that included not assembling the cake overnight.
I made this for my sister’s birthday in December last year, cardboard ‘V’ and all made by yours truly! 🙂
When I say easy, I really mean that this delicious apple pie is easy to make! Minimal fuss and a gorgeous golden coloured apple pie for sharing in a jiffy.

I know I’ve posted a black forest cake attempt before, but this one follows a different recipe for the chocolate sponge and look, this time I have fresh cherries on my cake so it looks like a proper black forest! 🙂
